Can we bring our own coolers? Of course! This boat has plenty of room. We have a snack bar on board as well, because everyone gets hungry on the water. Can I swim with the dolphins? We are only allowed to view the dolphins by law, swimming with and feeding them might upset their natural life style, but they do seem to enjoy the attention, and quite often will come up to the boats to say hello. How big are the glass panels and what can we see? Each of our boats have four large glass panels, about the size of a door, mounted at the bottom of our hull, underneath the surface of the water. On our snorkeling excursions into the Gulf, it is not uncommon to see schooling fish and rays, as well as other marine life as the snorkelers gear up to hop into the water. On our dolphin cruises, it offers a chance to view the dolphins under the water as they swim under the hull along with the boat. Sometimes the dolphins even enjoy peering back up through the glass just as curious as we are looking down into their world. What are the boats like? Our two Glass-Bottom Catamarans were custom built for us, and both are only a few years old and identical. These boats are of the most stable vessels for offshore use, having a twin hull and being constructed to be used in far worse conditions than they will ever see with us, makes them very safe indeed. Each vessel is USCG inspected on regular intervals, and meticulously maintained. Our crews are CPR/First Aid Certified and Drills are regularly conducted to keep them in a state of readiness. Professionalism is very important to us. Will I get sea-sick? Hasn’t happened yet. The waters in which we operate are generally very smooth, and the Catamaran hulls are very stable. If you think you might have a problem, the best thing to do is stop by and pick up some motion sickness medication from the dive shop in Gulf Shores, or a drug store and follow the recommendations on the box. Where do we go to see the wild dolphins? Most of our encounters happen in the back bays of Perdido in the Orange Beach, Alabama, area, but on occasion we are able to find dolphin just off the Coast in the Gulf. Our guests are our eyes, so you will actually help us locate a pod once we are on a trip. Remember to bring your camera! What other fun things can we do? Snorkeling, Glass-Bottom Kayaking, Pirates Cove Lunch Cruises, and Jet Ski rentals are some of the other activities we offer at Sanroc Marina. Whatever your pleasure, be sure to take a day or two of your vacation for an adventure on the water with us. How do the reservations work? We recommend reservations for each of the activities we offer, because it helps us better plan a smooth, fun excursion for you. Walk-ups are always welcome, but we cannot guarantee availability without reservations. To reserve, we simply need your basic information: your name, cell phone and credit card number. With this information, we hold your space and time just as an airline or hotel would. You can pay by a different method once you arrive at the dock, and you card is not charged until the trip has departed, if that is to be the method of payment. Our reservations do reserve a full deposit that is nonrefundable within 48 hours of the trip for your group, so if you need to reschedule, we will be happy to accommodate ahead of that. Our goal is your complete satisfaction, and we will work with you to enhance your experience. When should we arrive to go out on the boat? Generally, for a dolphin tour, arriving 20 minutes before your scheduled departure is sufficient. If you are planning a snorkeling excursion, 30 to 40 minutes prior to your departure allows your party enought time to be fitted for your snorkeling gear, and meet the crew. What is the guarantee? On our Dolphin Tours, we guarantee to find dolphin for you to see on your trip, or you can go on another trip absolutely free. Keep in mind that we do have about a 95% success rate of finding wild dolphins, and the trips are filled with other exciting sights as well, so no matter what you will enjoy yourself! Will we see dolphins on the lunch cruises? Probably so! Our vessels pass right through the areas we see dolphins the most, and we have yet to have a lunch cruise without a dolphin sighting. Most of our time is spent in search of the Cheeseburger on this trip, so we can only guarantee a great time.
